Deborah Runge BSN, MBA
Running for: Director at Large
I am proud to say I have been a Registered Nurse for over twenty-five years. I bring a strong rural background having worked as a frontline nurse in 100 Mile House and also in hospital administration in 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, Penticton and Oliver. My current position is that of Acute Health Services Director for Penticton and Oliver, working for Interior Health.
I believe strongly in advocating for safe patient care as well as advocating for nurses and the nursing profession. As a nurse leader I advocate for a healthy work environment by fostering open communication and collaboration between all staff. I believe in supporting a culture of safety in the workplace that encourages nurses to raise issues that may have negative consequences for patients or their nursing colleagues.
Outside of work I volunteer my time with the South Okanagan Women in Need Society as well as the South Okanagan Pride Society. I am an avid paddler and am on dragon boat and outrigger teams.
I am committed to high quality patient care and protection of the public. It is an honor to stand for the office of Director at Large for the ARNBC Board of Directors. If elected to the Board, I will provide strong leadership that is collaborative and future-orientated.
