Running for: Regional Director - First Nations
I am a registered nurse in Victoria, B.C. I am also Carrier First Nations. I have been interested in issues affecting the First Nations Population for years. I consider myself a First Nations activist. My goal in this director role is to serve all nurses in B.C. and to bring First Nations concerns to the attention of ARNBC.
I have been a registered nurse since 1990. I worked in acute medical respiratory and oncology units for 10 years. I also worked in long term care at the Juan de Fuca Hospitals during this time. I trained for emergency room nursing in 1999 and have been permanent in the Emergency departments of Victoria General Hospital and then Royal Jubilee Hospital since 2000. I am now nearing the end of my nursing career and am interested in taking on some new challenges. My strengths include communication skills, problem solving and prioritizing. I believe I would bring a wide range of knowledge and ability to this director role.
